‘Shrooms May Cure OCD

According to a preliminary study conducted by University of Arizona psychiatrist Dr. Francisco A. Moreno, psilocybin, the active ingredient in ‘magic mushrooms’, may provide relief for patients suffering from severe OCD.
This small-scale test, the first of its kind since the drug was outlawed in 1970, was not enough to come up with any real scientific conclusions. More research has to be done to determine if there are any true benefits. Nonetheless, the results of the study are very interesting. According to MSNBC, all nine of the patients studied had some degree of relief, lasting up to 24 hours in some of the participants.
According to the article:
Currently, there is no treatment that eases symptoms of the disorder as fast as psilocybin appears to, Moreno said. Other drugs take several weeks to show an effect, but the psilocybin was almost immediate.
These results are simply amazing and I can not wait to see what further studies will show. If FDA-approval (and the staggering amount of bureaucracy and paperwork that comes with it) were not necessary for such studies, we may have a cure for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder by now. More people would want to learn about that effects of the drug if it were actually legal to use. I know that when people push for laws that make these substances illegal they think they are helping others, but there are always unintended consequences. When the effects of a drug can not be studied, possible benefits from those drugs will never be found. LSD, for example, has been shown to be a possible cure for alcoholism. In that study, alcoholics who took one hit of LSD have been sober for 40 years, never consuming either drug again. We may never know the true benefits of these substances unless they are made legal.

I think this is one of the best things that could happen in our country. I feel that Psilocybin could definetly help alot of people. It took me a year of knowing about them before i gained the courage to try them. I had the misconception of thinking that they were a poison, and it hasnt been till recently that i found out otherwise. I have experienced good trips that i enjoyed every minute and good trips turned bad that i learned more about myself in the end liking the bad trips afterwards. There are alot of chemicals in modern day pharmacuticals that i think should be replaced with natural remedies. I definetly love mushrooms and think that our governmment should strongly consider the benefits of these harmless fungi.

I have suffered from OCD all my life, counting the stupidest shit in my head all day long. I ate an eighth of gold cap shrooms about a week ago and I didn’t notice until I read on wikipidia that shrooms may be a cure for obsessive compulsive disorder that I havn’t even bothered count in my head since then. It’s like all those brain cells are still repairing or something. But yeah I would most definately be willing to do tests on this factor.

Those who still support the US Government through taxes must rethink their support. The US government takes great relish in denying the sick what they need to get better so that the big pharmaceutical companies can make money off prescription pills.
Everyone reading this must look for ways to cheat on their taxes to prevent the Fascist US Government from continuing their abuse.

I’m afraid magic mushrooms were illegalised at the end of 2005 (I know, sucks a lot) making it illegal to possess any of the psilocybe species. But fuck what the government says, magic mushrooms are easy to find… read up on psilocybe semilanceata, they can be found virtually anywhere on fields across the UK… just make sure the cops don’t catch you
and furthermore these governments should start realising the full potential of drugs like this, instead of following historical innacuracies and scare stories… Most drugs in higher classes such as Psilocybin, LSD, Mescaline and Cannabis could potentially have more benefits than drawbacks anyway…
