Okay, this is ridiculous. One can be “sexually abused” (note that semantically, it implies external abusers right from the off, since there is the “abused” and “abuser”, usually separate) but one just simply CAN NOT (within the parameters of human logic, “sexually abuse oneself”. If that were possible, then I’d say, let’s ban masturbation too – it’s not like we have enough stigma attached to sexuality as a species and equally extreme measures in attempts to counter it… one can never have enough stigma.

I couldn’t believe this tripe when I heard it on the news. How can something be so wrong-sided and upside down? I know everyone thinks this case is ridiculous (and it is) but maybe it will give us all an opportunity to review just how arbitrary and ridiculous our laws are when it comes to any kind of sexual activity.
