Ron Paul on ABC News With George Stephanopoulos
Huge Marijuana Field Found 200 Yards From DEA Office
According to Fox 4 out of Dallas:
The secret pot farm was practically right under their noses. In fact, if you could walk in a straight line from the riverbank through the marshy underbrush and tangled wilderness, you’d walk just 200 yards before you hit the DEA’s office building.
These guys can’t even keep their own backyards clean!
Keeping up a marijuana field containing more than 300 plants is no small task and would require a lot of maintenance yet the DEA officials have no idea who was taking care of the plants.
So why is this in the news already? It seems like it would have been smarter to keep the plants under surveillance in order to figure who was maintaining them.
While I am absolutely not advocating the war on drugs — in fact, I would rather see the DEA agents sitting around doing nothing — you would think that this would be a good opportunity for a decent sized drug bust. But then again, I always knew these guys were fairly incompetent. Keep up the good work fellas!!!
Controversy Sparked on Shoutwire
I recently posted a public blog on the social bookmarking site Shoutwire.com about the PA government shutdown. Turns out, that it sparked a good bit of friendly debate. Come join me in arguing with the statists and socialists and help spread the message of personal freedom!
Pa Government Shuts Down — Life Goes On!!!
I myself woke up this morning breathing air like I have every other day in the past. I went through my morning ritual — brushed my teeth, showered, and updated my mp3 player with last nights episode of free talk live — and went to work. I noticed nothing out of the ordinary.
Imagine my surprise when I discovered that elected state bureaucrat Ed Rendell had partially shut down the government! Where were the riots? Where was the chaos? Where was the “Anarchy”? People seemed to be going on with their lives like any other day. Did they not realize the catastrophe that occurred earlier this morning?
Then suddenly, a question came to mind like the initial spark that lights a brush fire: Is it possible for life to continue without the intrusion of the government?
I pondered this for a while and came to a dramatic conclusion: If we can survive without the functions of the government that were abruptly put on pause today, then maybe we don’t need to government for some of its so-called essential functions. Maybe schools and health care can be provided more effectively in a true, unregulated free market. And maybe, just maybe we don’t need federal bureaucracies like the FCC, FDA, FAA, TSA, NSA, CIA and others intruding in our everyday lives.
It is something to think about. We Pennsylvanians are surviving just fine without the state government. Maybe you can too.
Ron Paul Wins Coalition for New Hampshire Taxpayers Straw Poll
Presidential candidate Ron Paul won the CNHT straw poll receiving 182 of the 294 total votes, or 65 percent. Rudy Giuliani was in second place with 22 votes.
This was the first major straw poll in the state of New Hampshire and is a big win for Ron Paul. Maybe he has a chance after all.
