Ron Paul Reacts to William Kostric’s Gun Protest [Video]
Man Brings Gun to Health Care Rally [Video]
At a recent “Town Hall Meeting” in Portsmouth New Hampshire a man was spotted open-carrying a loaded fire arm on his lower leg. The main stream media, particularly MSNBC, was shocked and appalled by this. “How could a man be allowed to exercise his second amendment right”, they seemed to be asking.
Some notable facts: The man was on the private private property of a church and the owners of that property knew he was there and permitted his presence. Obama was going to be at a near by high school hours later. Also, open-carry is legal in New Hampshire and the firearm was registered correction: guns do not have to be registerd in NH and this one was not. MSNBC got this wrong. Law enforcement was aware of his presence and the crowd did not seem to be bothered. Only the media was making a big deal out of the situation.
Some reactions from MSNBC pundits. Notice how they pull the race card:
The man was later identified as William Kostric. He was later interviewed on MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews. Personally I think Kostric did a great job of disarming the notoriously hotheaded Matthews. He got his viewpoint out there without raising his voice and without allowing Matthews to step all over him.
I will let Kostric speak for himself on the reasons why he decided to open carry at the event:
Penn Jillette and John Stossel Discuss Health Care on Glenn Beck [Video]
Three “Libertarians” discuss the health care and health insurance situation in America.
Penn Jillette probably takes the most extreme position and I must say that I seem to agree with him the most.
Penn says, “One thing is all this pretending that we are going toward socialized medicine. We are not going towards it, we’re already there.”
Wednesday Links
$9.99 for a 52-inch TV is too good to be true.
US has a record deficit for July. It seems like every administration reaches some kind of spending record.
“Glenrock Police Chief Tom Sweet says two officers “probably didn’t do things the best way” when they used a Taser on a 76-year-old man driving an antique tractor in a parade.” The officers are on paid vacation, sorry I mean “paid leave”, while they are investigated despite witnesses calling the cops in question “out of control.”
Speaking of tasers, a California man has died after being shot by police with a taser. Tasers can be deadly, it seems like excessive force using them on the old man on a tractor.
Some groups are calling for a reduction in the use of tasers. I agree. They should only be used as a replacement for deadly force.
Brand New Releases First Single From New Album
The first single, “at the bottom”, from Brand New’s fourth studio album Daisy has just been released on the band’s Myspace page. It has me seriously hyped for the new album.
I really hope the single is indicative of what the album will sound like.
Deja Entendu was great, The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me was better, and Daisy will (hopefully) be another inprovement. Brand New is one of the few bands that is able to consistently improve over time.

At the Bottom Lyrics:
Wait, watched you throw out your bouquet
Now I think about you everyday
I’m alone now in my bedAnd there’s a lake
And at the bottom you’ll find all my friends
They don’t swim cause they’re all dead
We never are what we intend or inventCause I make little lies and then I pull them apart
Think something dark’s living down in my heart
And if I wanted to die before I got old
I should have started some years ago digging that holeWell I carry this box to the proper place
And when I lower it down
I let it you fade away
I hope that you would do this for me
I’d serve you drugs on a silver plate
If I thought it would help you get away
I hope that you would do this for meA deer that a hunter shot in the heart
Some dogs that got hit by cars
All came to spill their guts
And we spoke
About the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
And which songs we had loved the most
And then we all turned to dirt
And dustSome men die under the mountain looking for gold
Some die looking for a hand to holdWell I carry this box to its proper place
And when I lower it down
I let you fade away
I know that you would do this for me
I’d serve you drugs on a silver plate
If I thought it would help you get away
I hope that you would do this for meI’m slowly bringing you down from the heavenly gates
Now I’m drowning in the flood I made
Well explain myself to me on the other side
I’ll watch from Heaven when I dieWell I carry this box to the proper place
And when I lower it down
I let you fade away
I know that you would do this for me
I’d serve you drugs on a silver plate
If I thought it would help you get away
I hope that you would do this for me

Armored Vehicle Sent to National Health Care Protest
The Young Americans For Liberty were holding a protest in D.C. when the cops were sent to break them up. See what happens here:
Make sure you watch to the end so you can see the vehicle that was sent out. This is your tax dollars hard at work.
Peter Schiff is Asking For Contributions
Peter Schiff is running for Senate and asking for donations for today’s “money bomb.” Help him reach his $750,000 goal. He has my support and should have yours as he is one of the few principled senatorial candidates. Total as of 4:00 p.m. EST seems to be $577,599. Goal has been upped to $850k.
