Skateboarder Tased by SDSU Campus Police

Posted by RottingNation On February - 10 - 2007

Watch the news report:

Can you say excessive force?  According to the witnesses, the skateboarder was on his knees when the police handcuffed then tackled him.  They then proceeded to tase him while he was lying on the ground.  The police claimed they only tased him twice (which is excessive for someone who is not being violent) but witnesses claim he was tased several times.

Coming of the heels of the UCLA taser incident, Im really starting to get tired of this shit.

Saddam Hussein is Hanged

The sadistic dictator is finally dead:

This actually came as a bit of a surprise to me. I figured he would appeal the verdict for years before he was actually executed. Turns out Iraq’s government does not work that way. Oh well, one more evil bastard dead is never a bad thing. At least the United States government ended one evil regime. Too bad we can not seem to replace it with anything too much better. When will we learn to stay out of the business of other countries?

FBI Now Uses Cell Phones to Eavesdrop on Conversations

Posted by RottingNation On December - 28 - 2006

Wiretapping is now the least of your worries. According to Fox News, the FBI is now using cell phones to eavesdrop on conversations. They can now remotely connect to the phone, activate the mic and listen to what is being said in the area. The only way to absolutely avoid this is by removing the battery from your phone. It may also be possible to cover the mic with something when you are not using it. This is ridiculous. The government is becoming more invasive day by day. Big Brother here we come.

Cop Stuns Himself With A Taser

The headline and video speak for themselves:

‘Truthiness’ Declared Word of the Year by Merriam-Webster

Posted by RottingNation On December - 13 - 2006

Truthiness. A word, coined by Stephen Colbert on the very first episode of the ‘Colbert Report’, is now Merriam-Webster’s 2006 Word of the Year. The words definition can loosely be described as ‘Believing what you feel is true, even if it does not necessarily agree with the facts’. For the few of you out there that may not know, Stephen Colbert is an on-air personality who is a satire of right-wing political pundits. His attitude is very neo-conservative and he seems to agree with everything that our current president says and does. However, to understand the comedy, you have to see the sarcasm. It is clear that his personality is a very good attempt at making fun of people with these beliefs. In fact, at the white house correspondents dinner of 2006, Colbert accused President Bush of ‘thinking with his gut’ as opposed to his head. This is why the word ‘truthiness’ was such a great invention for his character. It describes all political pundits, whether Democrat or Republican. None of them think with their heads. They believe what the party leaders tell them is true and they feed it to the general public without a second thought. And that’s this year’s word. Truthiness.

Horrific Abuse of Power by UCLA Campus Police

Posted by RottingNation On November - 16 - 2006

Full story here here and here

This incident occurred when Mostafa Tabatabainejad, a UCLA student, refused to show ID when he was using a campus computer lab. When he did not immediately leave, the University Police were called. According to one article:

“Tabatabainejad was walking with his backpack toward the door when he was approached by two UCPD officers, one of whom grabbed the student’s arm.

Thats right, the cops attacked him as he was attempting to leave the premises. When Tabatabainejad told them to let go of him to cops tased him. Tabatabainejad then repeatedly shouted, “I’m not fighting you” and “I said I would leave”, but yet they kept on tasing. The police also told him, on more than one occasion, that if he did not stand up they would tase him again. And they did. Multiple times. If that is not the definition of assault and police brutality then I do not know what is.

The Daily Bruin also had this to say:

according to a study published in the Lancet Medical Journal in 2001, a charge of three to five seconds can result in immobilization for five to 15 minutes, which would mean that Tabatabainejad could have been physically unable to stand when the officers demanded that he do so.

The cops continued to demand that Tabatabainejad stand up when it is very likely that they knew it was not possible. These officers are put through training. They know how powerful these things are yet they continued to demand that Tabatabainejad stand up after tasing him for approximately 3-5 seconds. It seems like these sadistic bastards just wanted to keep tasing to make an example out of him. They wanted to put their power on display.

Towards the end of the video you can also hear a student asking the police for their badge numbers. At this point the officer threatened the student that he would tase him too. This cop is clearly threatening an innocent bystander and refusing to divulge his badge number. What has this country become? Since when can these overzealous, authoritarian assholes threaten witnesses?

I would also like to know where the student outcry is. At one point in this countries long and forgotten history these students would have stood up for the rights of their fellow student. I can see that this is not the case anymore. This just goes to show how strong of a hold the police-state has on us. When the youth of the country does not stand up for their rights, I am afraid that no one will.Towards the end of the video you can also hear a student asking the police for their badge numbers. This grotesque abuse of authority is a crystal clear example of what happens when you give power hungry fools authority over others. Power corrupts and that will always be the case. I just hope that every single person involved in this blatant disregard for civil liberties will be prosecuted and put in jail for assault. I doubt it will happen, but I am still free to dream.

Make Mine Freedom

Posted by RottingNation On October - 18 - 2006

I was looking around Michael Badnarik’s campaign website today and I found this video:

It is amazing to me how we knew what freedom was in the 1950’s but we seem to forget today. Maybe thats because we have Socialism implemented in this country today. Maybe it is because cops abuse their power daily and no one seems to stand up for their rights. Whatever the reason, we need to take a lesson from this video.

At one time, our government knew what freedom and liberty were. At one time, there were actually Public Service Announcements to show us our liberties and freedoms and how to protect them, but not anymore.

Today, all we have is government commercials showing us how our rights are trampled on by various government agencies. Pro drug war commercials are a wonderful example. The government uses our money to shove this propaganda down our throats. They tell us that drugs are bad and that drugs cause crime, but what they don’t tell you is that you have the right to do whatever you want with your body. They will never tell you that the reason drugs cause crime is because they are illegal, but that is an argument (and an article) for another day.

Watch that video and watch it again then remember, freedom isn’t free, we need to fight and raise hell to bring freedom back to this country. Stand up for your rights or you will never be free.
